The rules of governance for Ministry of Transport companies can be considered complementary to the rules and texts that govern these companies in light of the laws and regulations regulating them. The principles of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (DECD) for the governance of state-owned companies have been followed as a reference when setting the principles of governance for Ministry of Transport companies in Egypt. These principles are divided into six groups:

 1 - Emphasizing the existence of an effective regulatory and legal framework for Ministry of Transport companies.
  2 - The state acts as an owner .
  3 - Equal treatment of shareholders (owners).
  4 - Relations with interested parties.
  5 - Transparency and disclosure.
  6 - Responsibilities of the boards of directors of Ministry of Transport companies.
